The AI-Backbone Expert Advisor runs on your MetaTrader 5 terminal and connects your live chart to the strategies you deploy in the platform. After the setup below, the EA automatically copies and executes the trades of every strategy you add to the Strategies input field.

What you need

  • A MetaTrader 5 (MT5) terminal installed and logged into your broker account.
  • The AI-Backbone Expert Advisor file (.ex5 placed in MQL5/Experts folder of your data directory).
  • Your user UID (see Step 1).
  • The UID of each strategy you want the EA to copy (see Step 4).

Find your user UID

Open the AI-Backbone app and click on your user email address in the top right corner. The user menu shows your personal UID — this is your user identifier that links the EA to your account.

Copy the UID — you will enter it into the EA inputs when attaching it to the chart.

Enable WebRequest inside MT5

The EA talks to the AI-Backbone servers over the internet. MetaTrader blocks web requests by default, so you have to explicitly allow one URL before the EA can work.

  1. In MT5 open Tools → Options (or press Ctrl+O).
  2. Go to the Expert Advisors tab.
  3. Tick Allow WebRequest for listed URL.
  4. Add the URL below to the list and click OK.
Allowed WebRequest URL https://cii.ai-backbone.com/protector
Only this specific URL is needed. Do not add a broad domain or use wildcards — this keeps the connection locked to the AI-Backbone protector service only.

Attach the EA to a chart

  1. Open a chart in MT5 (for example an FX or Gold chart).
  2. In the Navigator panel (Ctrl+N), expand Expert Advisors and find the AI-Backbone EA.
  3. Drag the EA onto the chart. The EA inputs dialog opens.
  4. Enter your user UID into the corresponding input field.
  5. Make sure Allow Algo Trading is enabled, then click OK.
Enable the Algo Trading button in the MT5 toolbar (or check Tools → Options → Expert Advisors → Allow automated trading). The EA icon in the top right of the chart turns green when the EA is running.

Add the strategies to copy

The EA copies the trades of the strategies you add to the Strategies input field. Enter the UIDs of all strategies you want the EA to trade, separated by a comma — for example:

Strategies input example strat_ab123,strat_cd456,strat_ef789

Where can I find the strategy UID? Open app.ai-backbone.com/live — every strategy is listed in the table with its UID. You can also open a strategy's details page, and the UID is shown there as well.

Done. Once the EA is attached and the WebRequest URL is allowed, the EA connects to https://cii.ai-backbone.com/protector, authenticates with your user UID, and starts copying the trades of the strategies listed in the Strategies field.

Troubleshooting

EA icon is red / EA is not running. Algo trading is disabled. Enable it via the Algo Trading toolbar button and confirm Allow automated trading in Tools → Options → Expert Advisors.

EA shows an error about WebRequest. You did not whitelist the URL. Re-check Step 2 and add exactly https://cii.ai-backbone.com/protector.

No trade is copied. Confirm the strategies you added to the Strategies field are live/deployed in the platform and that you used the correct UIDs.
